PAINTERS AND FISHER(WO)MEN FOR A DAY!

SHORT FOLK PAINTING COURSE AT FENGJING VILLAGE
AND NET FISHING OF THE RIVER!

Join us for a splendid day, just one hour out of Shanghai for a totally new experience!

 

 

We will start at Fengjing Village where a little but flourishing community of folk painters live, they will bring us in their hut-like workshops for a couple of hours of folk painiting, brushes and

colours are there to give you the unique experience of going backto the ‘60s and ‘70s, when this village was held and praised nationwide for its ideal representation of rural life. Up today, it still remains one of the most renown places for nongmin hua, folk painting.

 

 

To follow: lunch in a local nongjiale, o rural restaurant for a taste of local delicacies.

 

After lunch, we will move a little to the Mao fishing village, where local fishermen will take us in their wooden boats up into the middle of the large net to be raised, fish will come out and we will be able to catch them with the tools they use everyday.

 

Fish we catch can be served at our dinner at the restaurant with other seafood, or taken home as you like.

 

There will be Italian wines served at dinner, and espresso coffee.

Schedule:

 

   8.30 AM departure from Portman Hotel in Nanjing West Road,

                by private bus

   9.30  Arrival at Fengjing
  10-12   Folk painting course
  12.30  Lunch at the nearest nongjiale, soft rinks and espresso coffee
  13.30  Transfer to Mao fishing village (abt half and hour)
  14.30  Fishing expedition with local boats
  17.00   Dinner at the local fish restaurant, Italian wines and coffee
  19-20  Departure for Shanghai

 

RMB 488/person, includes 2 glasses of Italian wine at dinner.

Children under age of 12 free of charge.
